These three clips are just brilliant. Watch it all. (I found the clips from Nakedcapitalism.com)
I don't think this interview could happen in Britain. Take, for example, the Lloyds scandal. Has any newspaper or TV channel asked any serious questions about the destruction of a perfectly healthy bank.
Well, it's easier said than done! How can you bite the hand that feeds you? How can reporting in mainstream media actually serve the purpose that Mr. Stewart proposes when they owe their own existence to these same companies! Of course they are not going to expose any "shenanigans", their revenue would just nosedive. So they just survive by following what they are told to the letter... Sad, but true...
ReplyDeleteNice interview, but if it really were to be worthwhile and great, I think that the CEO of CNBC should be in the place of Jim Cramer.
Jim Cramer is a dick, I agree with Stewart in so far as anyone who watched his show and thought they were watching a financial commentary were deluding THEMSELVES.
ReplyDeleteCramer was entertainment, that's all.
He would have done well to just have admitted it outright.
On the other hand, if we were to see Cramer's trades by compared to his actual market trades (or the 'blind' trust he controls ) THAT would be news.
"if we were to see Cramer's trades"
