David Chaytor, the former Labour MP, has pleaded guilty to three charges of fraud over his expenses. Mr Chaytor, 61, misused £20,000 of 'second home' and office allowances, claiming almost £13,000 for a London flat that he already owned outright. The former Bury North MP appeared at the Old Bailey charged with three counts of theft by false accounting under section 17 of the Theft Act 1968.

ReplyDeleteOr rather, let me put it this way: Our politicians corrupted the housing market!
Whatever happened to the housing market was due to the fiscal policies adopted by the gov.
Housing market is important to provide the citizens decent accomodation. But it is not the be it and end of all. Not everyone needs to own the house they live in, just like not everyone needs to own the business they work in, or rule the country they are a citizen of.
